Psychotherapy can help you get to the root of your emotional experience and can help you take steps toward living a more peaceful life. With a therapist’s guidance and support you can learn how to process difficult emotions and respond differently to lack of motivation, fatigue and low energy. The work you do with a therapist will help you develop coping skills that you can use to manage difficult emotions and stress throughout your life.

You are unique and the treatment you receive should be tailored to meet your  needs. Psychotherapy is an evidence-based treatment that can be used on it’s own or as a complement to medication.  It is also helpful for people who are supporting someone who is struggling with depression

  • Identify areas in your life that feed your depression and determine what you can change and how to cope with the things that are out of your control

Many clients want to know: how long will I be in therapy? And the answer is, it varies from person to person. At hp counselling and consultation, we regularly monitor your moods using assessment tools and make adjustments to your treatment plan, as necessary. We don't want you to be in therapy any longer than you need to be and offer booster sessions (or check ins) to help you stay on track once our work together is complete.

The important thing to remember if you are currently suffering from depression is that you are not alone and there are caring professionals and effective treatments available to help you. If you’re ready to take the first step, reach out to us. We’d be honored to join you on your journey.
